Sarah loved her husband and wished they had a child. Her
husband, Abraham, said, “Don’t worry. We’ll have one when the time is right.”
But Sarah did worry because the time never did seem to be right. She told
Abraham he should marry her servant, so the servant could give her a child. But
when she saw how her servant loved the child, and how Abraham loved both
servant and child, Sarah grew jealous. One day Sarah had a child of her own and
sent the servant’s child away. But Abraham still loved both his sons, and so
did God.

How far will you travel in the month of love - 6
Abraham’s father lived in the beautiful city of Ur, where wise
and clever people wrote wonderful formulae to understand the weather, and complicated
stories to explain the skies. But these
clever people weren’t very good at loving each other, or at loving God.
One day
God told Abraham’s father to live somewhere else, where God could teach him and
his family to be clever about God as well. But Abraham’s father only went
halfway, stopping in another beautiful place, where clever people still didn’t understand.
God forgave him though, and loved him still, then asked Abraham to finish the
journey.
