Today
I'll wake up late and listen to Christmas music while I drink coffee
wake our youngest son late and listen to Enya while we play board games around the table
wake my taste-buds with Christmas dinner and my ears with the sounds of eating and happy conversation
wake my eyes to feast on gifts brightly wrapped beneath the tree
wake my heart to heaven
remember to be thankful for all that I have
and rejoice in the gift of more than I could dream of
as I look at the cross behind the manger scene under our tree.
